1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 600
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 600, AS AMENDED,
3 by replacing the first paragraph of subsection (a) of Sec. 4
4 of Section 5 with the following:
5 "(a) Every employer shall pay to each of his employees in
6 every occupation wages of not less than $2.30 per hour or in
7 the case of employees under 18 years of age wages of not less
8 than $1.95 per hour, except as provided in Sections 5 and 6
9 of this Act, and on and after January 1, 1984, every employer
10 shall pay to each of his employees in every occupation wages
11 of not less than $2.65 per hour or in the case of employees
12 under 18 years of age wages of not less than $2.25 per hour,
13 and on and after October 1, 1984 every employer shall pay to
14 each of his employees in every occupation wages of not less
15 than $3.00 per hour or in the case of employees under 18
16 years of age wages of not less than $2.55 per hour, and on or
17 after July 1, 1985 every employer shall pay to each of his
18 employees in every occupation wages of not less than $3.35
19 per hour or in the case of employees under 18 years of age
20 wages of not less than $2.85 per hour, and from September 1,
21 2003 through September 5, 2004 every employer shall pay to
22 each of his or her employees who is 18 years of age or older
23 in every occupation wages of not less than $6 per hour, and

1 on and after September 6, 2004 every employer shall pay to
2 each of his or her employees who is 18 years of age or older
3 in every occupation wages of not less than $6.50 per hour.";
4 and
5 by inserting at the end of the bill the following:
6 "Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
7 September 1, 2003.".
