| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the | 3 |
| State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Robert | 4 |
| "Bobby" Harvey, Sr., on January 1, 2004; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Harvey was born on March 22, 1932, in | 6 |
| Alexandria, Louisiana, to Abbott and Juliett Harvey; he was | 7 |
| educated in the Chicago Public School system; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, The Harvey family was one of the original families | 9 |
| to become members of Christ Way Baptist Church, which was under | 10 |
| the leadership of Reverend Consuella York; Mr. Harvey often | 11 |
| assisted Reverend York in performing church-related functions; | 12 |
| and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Harvey worked for the City of Chicago, Streets | 14 |
| and Sanitation Department, for over 20 years; for years, he | 15 |
| contributed time and effort to his political party by | 16 |
| performing a myriad of community-related services; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. Harvey has been deeply felt by | 18 |
| many, especially his wife, Ruth; his daughters, Patrice Thomas, | 19 |
| Veljean Harvey, and Riretta Lewis-McGee; his son, Robert Jr.; | 20 |
| his brothers, George (Jan), Frederick, and Gerald; his sisters, | 21 |
| Shirley, Alberta, Opal, and Catherine; his nine grandchildren; | 22 |
| his 20 great-grandchildren; and his many nieces, nephews, | 23 |
| cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 25 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 26 |
| mourn the passing of Robert "Bobby" Harvey, Sr., and we extend | 27 |
| our sincerest condolences to his friends, family, and all who | 28 |
| knew and loved him; and be it further
| 29 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
