SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Glenn H. McConnaughay of Batavia,
4formerly of Geneva, who passed away on September 12, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay was born in Bluford to James
6and Florence (Bowling) McConnaughay on February 13, 1921; he
7served in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific
8Theater during World War II as a military police officer; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay began his career as a police
10officer in 1949 and was the chief of police in Geneva for 12
11years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay started the Kane County Chief
13of Police Association; he was a member of American Legion Post
1475; he loved fishing and wood working and was a devoted family
15man; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay was preceded in death by his
17loving wife of 67 years, Mary; his son, Robert; his
18great-granddaughter, Alyssa; and his parents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay is survived by his children,
20Glenda (Dennis) Heinkel, Pat (Tim) Nelson, and LeeAnn (Lee)

1Molitor; his grandchildren, Kirk (Judy) Nelson, Christina
2(Tom) Senne, Lori (Tim) McDonald, Lisa (Tim) Brewer, Nicole
3(Matt) Figura, Kara (Dan) Nottingham, and Jamie and Laura
4Molitor; 15 great-grandchildren; his special friend, Peg
5Johnson; and many other dear relatives and friends; therefore,
6be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Glenn H. McConnaughay, and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Glenn McConnaughay as an expression
14of our deepest sympathy.
