SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Emil Koch of Urbana, who
4passed away on July 10, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Koch was born in Alton on December 11,
61946; he graduated from Alton High School in 1964 and received
7his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University; he
8received his master's and Ph.D. degrees in educational
9psychology from the University of Illinois; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Koch worked in Urbana School District 116
11for over 30 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Robert Koch's passion for education and his
13commitment to students prompted him to participate in the C-U
14One-to-One mentoring program with District 116; he was an
15active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Champaign, where he
16served on the Food Pantry Board and Finance Committee, and as
17lector and council secretary; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Robert Koch's other interests included travel,
19roller coasters, the television program "Jeopardy" and the St.
20Louis Cardinals; he was always looking forward to warm weather
21and his next trip; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Koch was preceded in death by his wife of
240 years, Jean; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Koch is survived by his brother, George
4(Ellie) Koch; his daughter, Ann (Jason) Walker; his son, Steven
5(Karen) Koch; and four grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Robert "Bob" Emil Koch, and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Robert Koch as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
