SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward L. Leslie of Waukegan, who passed
4away on December 11, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Leslie was born in Akron, Ohio to Edward L.
6Sr. and Kathryn (Watts) Leslie on March 28, 1935; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Edward Leslie was a psychiatrist; he was on staff
8at St. Therese and Victory/Vista East Hospitals in addition to
9having a private practice; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Edward Leslie was a devoted member of St.
11Anastasia Church; he was a retired Lieutenant Commander of the
12United States Navy, past President of the Lake County Medical
13Society, and past Commodore of the Waukegan Yacht Club; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Edward Leslie was preceded in death by his
15parents; his stepmother, Gertrude Leslie; his nephew, Jonathan
16Leslie; and his mother-in-law, Marcella Corcoran; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Edward Leslie is survived by his wife, Diane; his
18children, Edward (Meghan), Meghan (Paul) Fitzgerald, Daniel
19(Jill), Anne (Mike) Vonesh, John (Donna), Michael (Amy Affelt),
20and Kate (Alden) Zimlich; 16 grandchildren; numerous nieces and

1nephews; his brother, John (Jane) Leslie; his sister, Patricia
2(Thomas) Lowther; and his sister-in-law, Jane Paulson;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Edward L. Leslie, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Edward Leslie as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
