SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Todd J. Middendorf of Carpentersville, who passed away on July 18, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Todd Middendorf was born in Dubuque, Iowa to Gerald J. and Barbara E. (O'Connor) Middendorf on December 21, 1970; and

WHEREAS, Todd Middendorf began his career in fire service in 1992 as a volunteer with the Hazel Green Fire Department in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, where he served until 1994; he then became a fulltime firefighter and was employed by the Village of Carpentersville for almost 24 years, rising through the ranks to battalion chief; and

WHEREAS, Todd Middendorf was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin; he was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR; he fulfilled his dream for retirement by purchasing a home in Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, Todd Middendorf was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and

WHEREAS, Todd Middendorf is survived by his wife of 10 years, Daisy Morales Middendorf; his son, Tyler; his parents; his siblings, Troy (Brenda) and Tim (Emily) Middendorf, Tami (Matt) DeMuth, and Tara (Eric) Budde; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ramon and Caridad Morales; his sister-in-law, Lourdes Morales; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including all the area fire service professionals; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Todd J. Middendorf, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Todd Middendorf as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
