SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Myron D. Williams of Milan, who passed away on July 16, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Myron Williams was born in Webster City, Iowa to Sheldon and Lavina (Ryan) Williams on December 1, 1934; he graduated from Story City High School in Story City, Iowa; he joined the United States Army and served with a tank division in Germany; he married Norva Shirkey in Rock Island on April 18, 1964; and

WHEREAS, Myron Williams was employed as a supervisor at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline for 26 years; he later worked as a consultant at Sears Manufacturing in Davenport, Iowa for 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Myron Williams was a member and past commander of Reynolds American Legion Post 1166; he loved fishing, hunting, taking his children and grandchildren to the cabin in Minnesota, teaching his grandchildren to ski, tube, and fish, and the turtle races in Longville, Minnesota; and

WHEREAS, Myron Williams was preceded in death by his parents; uncles; and an aunt; and

WHEREAS, Myron Williams is survived by his wife, Norva; his daughters, Laurie (Richard) Aney, Clarissa Kay (Timothy) Hendley, and Shelly (Brian) Patrick; his son, Russell (Carri) Williams; his grandchildren, Christina, Jessica, and Matthew Aney, Kira and Tyler Hendley, Derek (Stephanie) Patrick, Kali Patrick, and Ella Williams; and four great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Myron D. Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Myron Williams as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
