SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George A. Schultz of Marengo, who passed
4away on December 29, 2016 at the age of 75; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Schultz was born in Belvidere to Amos and
6Wannetta (Hammond) Schultz on February 22, 1941; he graduated
7from Belvidere High School in 1960 and married the love of his
8life, Rita Young, in July of 1962; and
 
9    WHEREAS, George Schultz proudly served his country in the
10United States Army and worked for Ipsen Industries for 45
11years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, George Schultz was a member of the VFW, Coon Creek
13Casters, and the Rockford Area Coin Club; he was the past
14commander for the American Legion in Marengo; he was an avid
15collector of many things, and enjoyed fishing and golfing; he
16never met a stranger, he always had a smile and a joke for
17everyone, and he never missed an activity for his children and
18grandchildren; and
 
19    WHEREAS, George Schultz was preceded in death by his wife,
20Rita; his parents; his stepfather, Charles Butz; his brothers,
21James, John "Jack", and his twin brother, Gerald; his

1sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Harriet Schultz; and his
2brother-in-law, Richard Goodman; and
 
3    WHEREAS, George Schultz is survived by his children, Jeff
4(Lisa) Schultz, and Brian (Sandi) Schultz; his grandchildren,
5Elliot and Tim Schultz, Nathan and Evan Schultz; his brothers,
6Darrell Schultz, and Michael (Linda) Butz; his sisters-in-law,
7Margaret Schultz, Sharon Stanton, and Beverly Goodman; his
8brother-in-law, Elvin (Marge) Young; and numerous nieces,
9nephews, cousins, and special friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
12family and friends, mourn the passing of George A. Schultz, and
13extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all
14who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of George Schultz as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
