SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy "Dottie" Parsons-Freeman of
4Alton, who passed away on February 18, 2017 at the age of 81;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman was born in Alton to
7Walter and Kathleen (King) Stilwell on December 18, 1935; she
8married Ronald L. Parsons on October 11, 1953, and later
9married Elbert "Tot" Freeman on December 26, 2004; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman graduated from Marquette
11Catholic High School in 1953; she was a very active member of
12Ss. Peter & Paul Proto-Cathedral in Alton, and volunteered at
13the Immaculate Heart of Mary Novitiate in Godfrey; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman was preceded in death by
15her parents; her first husband, Ronald; and a brother, John
16Stilwell; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman is survived by her
18husband, Elbert; three daughters, Deborah (Kevin)
19Stahlschmidt, Nancy Kilmer, and Susan (Gary) Dyer; one son, Tom
20(Ann) Parsons; one stepdaughter, Ann (Spencer) Duncan; three
21stepsons, John Freeman, David Freeman, and Daniel (Sandy)

1Freeman; six grandchildren, Mike (Deanna) Stuart, Erin (Eddie
2Gerber) Stahlschmidt, Jeremy (Star) Parsons, Krista Parsons,
3Hannah Dyer, and Nathan Dyer; 15 step-grandchildren; 11
4great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald Stilwell, and a
5brother-in-law, Daryl Parsons; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Dorothy "Dottie" Parsons-Freeman, and extend our sincere
9condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10her; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Dorothy Parsons-Freeman as an
13expression of our deepest sympathy.
