SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Stephen Neal "Steve" Doran, who passed
4away on December 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Steve Doran was born in Fairbury to Bob and
6Phyliss Doran in 1957; he was affectionately known as "Dinky"
7in elementary school and attended University High School, where
8he played baseball, basketball, and football; he attended
9Illinois Wesleyan University, where he studied biology; he
10married Joy Wainscott in 1979 and attended the SIU School of
11Dental Medicine in Alton; he completed his oral surgery
12residency program at Cook County Hospital; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Steve Doran and his family briefly lived in West
14Virginia before he opened his oral surgery practice in
15Bloomington; and
 
16    WHEREAS, In 2013, Steve Doran went on his first medical
17mission trip to Haiti to provide free oral surgery care;
18serving Haitian communities immediately became his life's
19passion; he also gave back to central Illinois by starting free
20oral surgery clinics in Bloomington-Normal, which served
21thousands of patients over the years; and

1    WHEREAS, Steve Doran supported IWU his entire life; he
2enjoyed spending time with his family, music, rescue animals,
3sports, attending horse races, cheering for the Cubs and
4Blackhawks, and holiday celebrations; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Steve Doran was preceded in death by his father,
6Bob; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Steve Doran is survived by his wife of nearly 40
8years, Joy; his daughters, Molly, Flynn, and Anna; his
9sons-in-law, Andrew and Javonni; his grandsons, Isaac and
10Oliver; his mother, Phyliss; his sisters, Sandy (Tim) and
11Lynne; many nephews and nieces; and numerous family members and
12friends; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Stephen Neal Doran and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Steve Doran as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
