SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wilbur Edwin Brooks of New Windsor, formerly of East Moline, who passed away on November 15, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Wilbur Brooks was born in Rock Island on November 12, 1942; he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Wilbur Brooks worked for John Deere and then drove semis for several companies; he retired from Roadway Express in Rock Island in 2000; he then drove a school bus in East Moline and did maintenance work for Jordan Catholic School in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Wilbur Brooks was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Brooks; his mother and stepfather, Inez and Gerald Rushton; and his uncles, Richard, Norman, and Frank Quist; and

WHEREAS, Wilbur Brooks is survived by his son, Eric (Jennifer) Brooks; his stepson, John (Wendy) Pulford; his step-grandchildren, Spencer and Caroline Pulford; his sisters, Bonnie (Dick) Curry and Connie (Allen) Schnoor; his brother, Gary Brooks; and his many close friends and neighbors; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Wilbur Edwin Brooks and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wilbur Brooks as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
