SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harriet L. O'Neill of Bartonville, who
4passed away on October 19, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill was born in Peoria to William H.
6and Charlotte (McCann) King on May 26, 1935; she married Thomas
7H. O'Neill Jr. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Peoria on
8June 28, 1952; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill was a dedicated homemaker and
10mother; in the 1980s, she worked part time at the Illini Bluffs
11School District cafeteria; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill participated with the Peoria
13Southside Bums, the Peoria Fire Department retirees and widows,
14and the Knights of Columbus #4333 55+ Club; family was
15important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with her
16children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including
17weekly family dinners; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill was preceded in death by her
19husband, Thomas; her parents; and her brother, Roger; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill is survived by her children,

1Thomas III (Geri) O'Neill, Karen (Alan) McCloud, Kathleen
2(Mike) Dudley, Steve (Debbie) O'Neill, and John O'Neill; her
3grandchildren, Thomas IV and Andy O'Neill, Jennifer and Jimmy
4Marrs, Katie Fehl, Kim Maroon, and Patrick, Michael, Anne
5Marie, and Tristin O'Neill; her step-granddaughters, Michelle
6Dudley and Jennifer Simonich; her 13 great-grandchildren; her
7sister, Janet Russell; and her many cousins, nieces, and
8nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Harriet L. O'Neill and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Harriet O'Neill as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
