SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harriet L. O'Neill of Bartonville, who passed away on October 19, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill was born in Peoria to William H. and Charlotte (McCann) King on May 26, 1935; she married Thomas H. O'Neill Jr. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Peoria on June 28, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill was a dedicated homemaker and mother; in the 1980s, she worked part time at the Illini Bluffs School District cafeteria; and

WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill participated with the Peoria Southside Bums, the Peoria Fire Department retirees and widows, and the Knights of Columbus #4333 55+ Club; family was important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including weekly family dinners; and

WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; and her brother, Roger; and

WHEREAS, Harriet O'Neill is survived by her children, Thomas III (Geri) O'Neill, Karen (Alan) McCloud, Kathleen (Mike) Dudley, Steve (Debbie) O'Neill, and John O'Neill; her grandchildren, Thomas IV and Andy O'Neill, Jennifer and Jimmy Marrs, Katie Fehl, Kim Maroon, and Patrick, Michael, Anne Marie, and Tristin O'Neill; her step-granddaughters, Michelle Dudley and Jennifer Simonich; her 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Janet Russell; and her many cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Harriet L. O'Neill and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harriet O'Neill as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
