SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of F.O. "Frank" Kenny of Peoria, who passed
4away on October 20, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Kenny was born in Peoria to John C. and Ann
6E. Sheridan Kenny on August 26, 1935; he graduated from the
7Spalding Institute and Bradley University; he served for two
8yeas with the U.S. Marines and married Laura J. Carney in Ladd
9on September 9, 1961; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Frank Kenny was a Peoria Journal Star reporter
11from 1961 to 1967; he retired from Caterpillar in 1996 after 29
12years in marketing, human resources, and the Caterpillar
13Training Institute; he served as interim Peoria County Circuit
14Clerk in 1998 and was a member of the Peoria County Board for
15eight years; he also served two terms as a trustee for the
16Greater Peoria Sanitary District Board; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Frank Kenny was a block captain for the Uplands
18Homeowners Association and a Democratic Party precinct
19committeeman; he was a Red Cross blood and pheresis donor and a
20volunteer driver for the Cancer Society; he was a volunteer and
21former board chairman for the Heart of Illinois Harvest; he was
22former president of St. Brendan's Division, a St. Patrick's

1Society Lifetime Member, and a board member of the Friends of
2Clonmel; he was also a volunteer at Proctor Hospital; he was a
3former chairman of the St. Mark's School Committee and a member
4of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Spalding Council #427;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Frank Kenny was preceded in death by his brothers,
7Jack, Jim, Tom, Jerry, and Jerome, and his sister, Mary Errion
8Bailey; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Kenny is survived by his wife, Laura; his
10children, Susan (Jason) Miller, David, Rob (Linda), Joe (Kate),
11and Patrick (Laurel); eight grandchildren; his brother,
12Martin; and his sister, Nancy Norton; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15F.O. "Frank" Kenny and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Frank Kenny as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
