SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lytle Leo George of Edwardsville, who
4passed away on February 14, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lytle George was born in Sullivan, Missouri to
6Lytle Jackson and Ollie (Springer) George on June 25, 1920; he
7served as a flight instructor for the United States Navy from
81942 to 1945 and married Helen Jane Hussman in Sullivan on
9February 22, 1946; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lytle George worked first as a conservation agent
11for the Missouri Department of Conservation in Milan, Missouri,
12and later as assistant superintendent at the Busch Wildlife
13Refuge at Weldon Springs, Missouri; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lytle George had a love for the outdoors; he
15became the manager at Nilo Farms, the preeminent private
16shooting preserve near Brighton, where he hosted thousands of
17guests, including captains of industry, government leaders,
18and celebrities from the sports and entertainment worlds; he
19was an avid gardener, fisherman, and fan of the St. Louis
20Cardinals; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Lytle George was preceded in death by his wife,

1Helen; his sister, Oleta (George) Walker; and his brother,
2Robert Dean George; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Lytle George is survived by his daughter, Mary
4Susan (James Michael) Featherstun; his son, John David (Beverly
5Kay) George; his granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth (Terry)
6George-Waterfield; his brother, James Springer George; and
7numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Lytle Leo George, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Lytle George as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
