SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John L. Criswell of Tilton, who passed
4away on November 7, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Criswell was born in Danville to Ross and
6Betty Bohem Criswell on August 27, 1940; he graduated from
7Stockland High School and served in the U.S. Army during the
8Vietnam War; he married Elizabeth June Clark in Georgetown on
9June 27, 1964; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Criswell was a machinist at Hyster for 36
11years, where he served on the activities committee; he also
12served on the Vermilion County Board and with the Tilton
13Volunteer Fire Department; and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Criswell was a member of the Fairmount
15Conservation Club and Westville American Legion Post 51; he
16enjoyed his pets and working on and showing his John Deere
17tractor; he especially loved going to VIPS to have breakfast
18everyday with his friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, John Criswell is survived by his wife, Elizabeth;
20his daughters, Brenda (Robert) Finley and Luchawna Simmons; his
21grandchildren, Michael Finley, Johnna Simmons, Jeffrey Simmons

1Jr., and Dakota Finley; and his great-grandchild, Kaylynn
2Finley; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5John L. Criswell and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of John Criswell as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
