SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gary R. Lietz of Champaign, who passed
4away on November 6, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Lietz graduated from Champaign Central High
6School in 1969, Denison University in 1973, and John Marshall
7Law School in 1976; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gary Lietz was admitted to the Illinois Bar in
91977 and practiced law for the entirety of his career in
10Champaign, primarily at his practice of Lietz, Banner and Ford;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gary Lietz was a devoted husband to Peggy, and
13they enjoyed spending time with their many close friends and
14family; he took pride in being an involved father who was a
15constant support to his children; he received great joy in
16becoming a grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his
17grandsons, be it in Illinois, Michigan, or at Disney World; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gary Lietz was preceded in death by his wife,
19Peggy (Mitchell) Lietz; his parents, Dr. Gerald S. and Kathryn
20Z. Lietz; and his mother-in-law, Annie (Pruitt) Mitchell; and

1    WHEREAS, Gary Lietz is survived by his daughter, Emily
2(William) Vliek; his son, Jordan (Devin Richardson) Lietz; his
3grandsons, William and Charlie Vliek; his brothers, Greg
4(Marie) and Ronald Lietz; his father-in-law, Philip Mitchell;
5numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his granddogs, Henry
6and Granger; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Gary R. Lietz and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
10friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Gary Lietz as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
