| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Donald Edward "Don" Kostylo of Gurnee, | 4 | | who passed away on September 16, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Don Kostylo was born in Waukegan to Ed and Ann | 6 | | Kostylo on December 4, 1932; he graduated from Waukegan High | 7 | | School in 1950; he attended Illinois State University and the | 8 | | University of Illinois; he served in the United States Army and | 9 | | was a veteran of the Korean War; he was honorably discharged in | 10 | | 1954; he married Joann Schwarz in 1957; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Don Kostylo worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber for | 12 | | many years; he was also skilled at remodeling homes, including | 13 | | his own; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Don Kostylo was active with the Boy Scouts; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Don Kostylo was an avid fan of the Bears, Bulls, | 16 | | Cubs, and Notre Dame; he enjoyed traveling with his wife, | 17 | | including trips to Italy and Hawaii and visits to their | 18 | | children and grandchildren; he met a group of high school | 19 | | friends for breakfast each month and loved to play cards with a | 20 | | regular crowd; he and his wife enjoyed a weekly game of | 21 | | Dominoes with their good friends, Eddie and Doris Richter; he |

| 1 | | and his wife enjoyed countless plays and musicals; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Don Kostylo is survived by his wife, Joann; his | 3 | | children, Scott (Maria) Kostylo, Cyndi (Paul Klecka) Kostylo, | 4 | | Kristine (Mark) Strack, and Michael (Desiree) Kostylo; his | 5 | | grandchildren, Joseph (Ari Yarwood) and Adam Kostylo, Michael, | 6 | | Nick, and Sam Stadlberger, Vince, Tony, Liz, and Nick Strack, | 7 | | Evan Kostylo, and Aidan Delgado; his great-grandchild, Jayden; | 8 | | and his brother-in-law, Larry (Kathy) Schwarz and niece, | 9 | | Stacey; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Donald Edward "Don" Kostylo and extend our sincere condolences | 13 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 14 | | it further
