SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rosemary A. (Taul) Matifes of Godfrey, who passed away on August 10, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Matifes was born to Theodore Francis and Gertrude (Baker) Taul on October 31, 1932; she attended Sts. Peter and Paul grade school and graduated from Alton High in 1950; she married Gilbert Matifes on August 8, 1953; he preceded her in death in 1996; she married William Robert Arterberry in November 2001, and he preceded her in death in October 2002; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Matifes was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Stephen and Keith (in infancy); and her siblings, Francis Taul, Donald Taul, Martha Davey, Bill Taul, and Marlene Mattingly; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Matifes is survived by her children, Connie (Ron) Abraham, Tim (Annette Hatten) Matifes, and Kenny Matifes; her grandchildren, Theresa (Darrell) Forsythe, Lisa Morgan, Trevor Matifes, Abigail (Ian) Stephenson, Mikaela Matifes, and Katie Abraham; her great-grandchildren, Dade, Jarret, and Chase Morgan, Taylor Forsythe and Dylan Forsythe, Autumn Hinthorne, and Owen Stephenson; her siblings, Harold (Shirley) Taul and Terry (Cathy) Taul; her dear friends, June Keasler and Jodi Stillwell; and her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rosemary A. (Taul) Matifes and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rosemary Matifes as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
