SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy E. Layson of Waukegan, who passed away on August 28, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Layson was born in Waukegan to Frances and Jerome Tasker on August 6, 1926; she graduated from Waukegan High School in 1944 and married George W. Miltimore Jr. in 1945; after being widowed, she married Malcolm Layson in 1971; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Layson worked for North Shore Gas for many years; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Layson was active in the Altar Guild and other groups at Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Layson was preceded in death by her first husband, George Miltimore Jr.; her husband, Malcolm Layson; her brother, Jerome Tasker; her sister, Barbara Landree; her parents, Jerome and Frances Tasker; and her stepfather, George Thompson; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Layson is survived by her children, Leslie Hartman, Susan (James) Berdahl, and Jeffery Miltimore; her stepdaughters, Jill Morris and Robin Corbin; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dorothy E. Layson, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy Layson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
