SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael A. Tosto Sr. of Elgin, formerly
4of Elk Grove Village, who passed away on June 23, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Tosto Sr. was a World War II Army Air
6Force veteran; and
 
7    WHEREAS, For much of his working career, Michael Tosto Sr.
8worked as a construction foreman and superintendent on major
9underground construction projects, approximately 40 percent of
10which were at O'Hare Airport; in his retirement, Chicago
11Department of Aviation officials would call to draw on his vast
12historical knowledge of airport construction; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Michael Tosto Sr. brought his construction
14expertise to his role as an Elk Grove Village trustee, a
15position he held for 23 years; he was also a volunteer
16firefighter for ten years, and a charter member of the B.P.O.
17Elks Lodge Number 2423 of Elk Grove; he served on a church
18committee that helped found and build St. Julian Eymard; he was
19known for his storytelling skills; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Michael Tosto Sr. was preceded in death by his
21parents; his brother, Louis F. Tosto; his first wife, Eleanor

1"Betty" Caster; and his second wife, Dolores A. Solare; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Michael Tosto Sr. is survived by his children, Fr.
3Louis Tosto, Rita Tosto, and Michael A. (Dina) Tosto Jr.; his
4grandchildren, Isabella and Juliet; his sisters, Carmella
5(late Joseph) Leto and Connie (Arthur) Fumarolo; his
6sister-in-law, Marjorie Edna (Larry) Theriault; and his many
7nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Michael A. Tosto Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Michael Tosto Sr. as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
