SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kennedie LyAnn Vote of Germantown Hills, who passed away on May 12,2018; and

WHEREAS, Kennedie Vote was born in Wichita, Kansas to Rex and Jeannine (Caswell) Vote on August 28, 1998; she graduated from Metamora Township High School in 2017; she attended Illinois Central College for one year, with the hopes of transferring to Hillsong College for Ministry; and

WHEREAS, Kennedie Vote was an active member of Northwoods Community Church, where she was an intern in Student Ministries; she was a member of the church's Worship Team; she also helped with the children's ministry, where she showed a passion and a love for kids; and

WHEREAS, Kennedie Vote dedicated a great deal of her time to helping others with projects like rehabbing homes through the Mission Peoria program by the Dream Center in Peoria, to traveling with her church on mission trips and retreats to places like the Dominican Republic and Brazil; and

WHEREAS, In her short time, Kennedie Vote touched the lives of many people in her community and across the world with her love and compassion; she will remain a bright spot in the lives of her family, friends, and those she met; and

WHEREAS, Kennedie Vote is survived by her parents; her brothers, Tanner and Courtland (Bethany) Vote; her sister, Markie Vote; her grandparents, Roger and Sharon Vote, Caroline Courtland, and Frankie and Lisa Caswell; and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kennedie LyAnn Vote and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kennedie Vote as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
