SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Valentine Juncer of Waukegan, who passed away on April 22, 2018; and

WHEREAS, John Juncer was born in North Chicago on February 13, 1929; he graduated from St. Bartholomew Grade School in Waukegan and Waukegan Township High School; he served in the United States Army during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, John Juncer was the owner of the National Shoe Repair of Waukegan; he retired from OMC in 1987 after 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, John Juncer was preceded in death by his brothers, Adolph, Casimir, Francis, and Albert; his sisters, Adeline and Mary; and an infant granddaughter, Mary; and

WHEREAS, John Juncer is survived by his wife, Florence (Pudlo); his sons, Fr. Bart Juncer and Matthew Juncer; his daughters, Therese Williams and Patty (Mark) Walaszek; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Brozek, Nathaniel Juncer, Veronica (John) Singh, Anne (Chris Sheard) Walaszek, Jimi Williams, and Luke Walaszek; his great-grandchildren, Leah and Daniel Brozek; and his sister, Rita Montella; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Valentine Juncer, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Juncer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
