SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Walter John "Walt" Ciesla, formerly of
4Waukegan, who passed away on April 4, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla was born in Chicago to Sophie and
6Frank Ciesla; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla's career spanned over 60 years,
8working for the Chicago Tribune and managing the Larsen and
9Peterson Paint, Hobbies and Toy Store and Interstate Electric
10in Waukegan; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla was a Lake County board member and a
12city council alderman for the City of Waukegan; he was a
13fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a Past
14Grand Knight for Waukegan Council #731; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla retired to Sun City West, Arizona; he
16was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes of Sun City
17West, where he served as an usher; he was a Past Faithful
18Navigator for K.C. Sun City Assembly #1673; he served as a
19board member for the Sun City West (SCW) Foundation and PORA -
20Sun City West, where he served as Chairman of the Bingo
21Committee; and

1    WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla enjoyed his weekly trips to the local
2casino; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla was preceded in death by his wife,
4Dorothy Mazner; his parents; and eight siblings; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla is survived by his children, Richard
6(Margaret) Ciesla and Janet (Harold) Cox; his siblings, Edward
7Ciesla and Lillian McCune; his grandchildren, Kendra (Byron),
8Carolyn, Katie (Eric), Lauren (Eric), and Bryan; and his
9great-grandchildren, Emma, Elle, Liam, Frances, Ethan, and
10Weston; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Walter John "Walt" Ciesla, and extend our sincere condolences
14to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
15it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Walt Ciesla as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
