SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry R. Admire, who passed away on February 3, 2017 at the age of 80; and

WHEREAS, Larry Admire was born in Jerseyville to Ray and Juanita (Green) Admire on November 9, 1936; the family moved to Alton and he attended Alton schools, graduating from Alton High School in 1954; following his graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served for two years, most of the time in Germany; he later attended Shurtleff College, and married Barbara Cobeck on February 14, 1984; and

WHEREAS, Larry Admire was employed by Owens Illinois Mold Manufacturing and Retail Credit, before beginning his 34-year career as a State Farm Agent with an office in Bethalto; he retired in December of 2006; and

WHEREAS, Larry Admire was an avid bowler, tennis player, golfer, and bird hunter; he was active in his community, serving with the Alton/Godfrey Rotary Club, the Optimists, and as an officer with the Regional Growth Association; he served on the board of directors of the Alton/Wood River Sportsmen's Club, Lockhaven Country Club, and the Lewis and Clark Community College Booster Club; and

WHEREAS, Larry Admire was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Shirley Admire and Carol Admire; and

WHEREAS, Larry Admire is survived by his wife of almost 33 years, Barbara; his children, Todd (Mary Pat) Admire, Jud Admire, Stacey Semanisin (Adele Langlois, and her children Michlynn and Dylan Langlois), R. Scott Admire, and Shannon Admire-McDill; his stepdaughter, Julie (Chris) Childs; 14 grandchildren, Ian Admire, Ryan Admire (Michelle Diaz), Tyler (Katie) Admire, Justin Admire (Leah Kiger, and her son, King), James Semanisin (Brittany Bessiere), Jessica Semanisin (Mike Corbin), Lucas Admire, Genna Admire, Patrick McDill, and Jameson McDill; two step-grandchildren, Molli Childs and Tanner Childs; three great-granddaughters, Anslie Semanisin, Kylie Semanisin, and Coraline Admire (due March 15th); two very special nieces, Kelli Schenk Thompson (Charley), and Jodie Schenk Krueger (Eric Brand), and their families; his special Westie, Chloe; and many dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry Admire, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Admire as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
