SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Lindsay Carroll of East Moline,
4who passed away on March 22, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll was born in East Moline to Taylor
6and Edith (Willburham) Carroll on June 9, 1950; he graduated
7from United Township High School; he then served in the United
8States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Diego, California;
9he married Margaret Lyons in Rock Island on September 12, 1998;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll worked as a Deputy Sheriff for
12Rock Island County and then as an officer for the East Moline
13Police Department; later, he refitted minivans with chairlifts
14for wheelchairs; he was then employed by Murphy Brothers until
15his retirement in 2013; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll was a car enthusiast; he enjoyed
17spending his winters in Florida, where he spent time rebuilding
18golf carts; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll was preceded in death by his
20parents; his sister, June Karlix; his brother, Craig Carroll;
21and his nephew, Christopher Karlix; and

1    WHEREAS, Lindsay Carroll is survived by his wife, Margaret;
2his nephews, Kerry (LeeAnn) Karlix and Keven (Susan) Karlix;
3and his dog and faithful companion, Toots; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6William Lindsay Carroll and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Lindsay Carroll as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
