SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth "Gary" Kombrink of Bloomington,
4who passed away on March 25, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Kombrink was born in Harrisburg,
6Pennsylvania to Gilbert and Ruthe Kombrink on August 29, 1945;
7he attended high school in Belleville and the University of
8Missouri, where he was quarterback of the football team in
91966-67 and co-captain his senior year; after graduation in
101968, he served in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant from
111968 to 1970; he graduated from the University of Missouri
12School of Law in 1973; he married Sandra K. Arnold on March 28,
131987; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gary Kombrink began his legal career, which
15included a partnership, with the Dunn law firm in Bloomington
16and as a staff attorney for the University of Illinois,
17specializing in labor and employment law; he retired from the U
18of I in 2005, but later served as Director of Labor Relations
19at Illinois State University for several years while also
20maintaining a private law office in Bloomington; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Gary Kombrink retired for a second time and
22devoted all his time to his beloved wife and the cats they

1rescued; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Gary Kombrink is survived by his wife, Sandi; his
3mother, Ruthe; his sisters, Gayle (Gary) Libberton and Lisa
4(Jesse Camacho) Kombrink; his son, Ryan Kombrink; his daughter,
5Kyle (John) Roche; his grandchildren, Nora, Maddie, Lucy, Abby,
6and Matthias; his nephews, Rand and Gabe; and his niece,
7Shelle; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Kenneth "Gary" Kombrink, and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Gary Kombrink as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
