SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Woodson A. "Woody" Garrett of Woodstock, who passed away on March 9, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Woody Garrett was born to Finis and Rosa Annie (Alley) Garrett on November 13, 1939; he married Carol Okrasinski on October 20, 1963; and

WHEREAS, Woody Garrett loved the outdoors and being on his motorcycle; he was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and the International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers; he supported his grandchildren in all of their activities and made it a priority to attend any event in which they were involved; and

WHEREAS, Woody Garrett was preceded in death by his brother, Finis Harold and his sister, Francis Novelene; and

WHEREAS, Woody Garrett is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughters, Beth (Vik) Burg-Krishnan and Lisle (Nathan) Stalter; his grandchildren, Abbi, Jason, Nathan, and Rebecca; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Woodson A. "Woody" Garrett and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Woody Garrett as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
