SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leonard J. "Ski" Strahanoski Sr. of
4Lockport, who passed away on March 11, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leonard Strahanoski was born in Lockport to John
6and Rose (Drick) Strahanoski in 1928; he served in the United
7States Navy during World War II; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Leonard Strahanoski owned and operated Ski and
9Sons Builders, retiring in 2005; he previously worked for Frank
10Milne Developing and built many homes in the Kelvin Grove
11Subdivision; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Leonard Strahanoski served the City of Lockport
13for 50 years; he was 2nd Ward Alderman from 1965 to 1973 and
14was a part-time building and plumbing inspector for many years;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Leonard Strahanoski was a life member of Lockport
17VFW Post #5788; he was very generous and contributed to many
18charities; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Leonard Strahanoski was preceded in death by his
20parents; his sister, Dorothy (Jim) Kinsley; and his

1sister-in-law, Charlene; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Leonard Strahanoski is survived by his wife of 65
3years, Dorothy (Eipers); his children, William (Debra), John
4(Julie), Kimberly (Lou) Ciuffini, Leonard Jr. (Renee), Beth
5(Doug) Hohisel, and Anthony (Mendi); 13 grandchildren; 10
6great-grandchildren; his brothers, Donald (Norma) and Ronald;
7his sisters, Ceil (Les) Moore and Virginia (Robert) Smolich;
8and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Leonard J. "Ski" Strahanoski Sr., and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Leonard Strahanoski as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
