SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to recognize the life of Christopher P. Gomez Jr., who passed away in 2014; and

WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, Christopher Gomez Jr. was the only son of retired Chicago Fire Fighter Christopher P. Gomez Sr. and Edith; he attended Galileo Math and Science Academy until the eighth grade, when he started high school at Hubbard and graduated from Lincoln Way Central High School; he continued his education at Moraine Valley Community College and graduated on the Dean's List; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Gomez Jr. joined the Central Stickney Fire Protection District, located in Stickney Township in unincorporated Cook County, in 2009; one year later, he earned an emergency medical technician license; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Gomez Jr. had planned to join the United States Military and dreamed of becoming a member of the Chicago Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Gomez Jr. imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service, and dignity; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the life of Christopher P. Gomez Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Christopher Gomez Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
