SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gerald "Gary" Maberry of Rosewood
4Heights, who passed away on January 7, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Maberry was born in Athensville to Russell
6"Red" and Rachel Caroline (Preston) Maberry on September 29,
71936; he graduated from Illinois State University with a degree
8in agriculture and received his master's degree in biology and
9chemistry from Murray State University; he married Minnie
10Theresa "Terry" Peart in Bloomington on September 21, 1957; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gerald Maberry served 33 years as an educator in
12the Roxana School District; he had a love of athletics and was
13a devoted coach and mentor; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gerald Maberry enjoyed gardening and cared for
15over 300 tomato plants each year; he was an avid hunter and
16upland game enthusiast; he and his wife hosted afternoon pool
17parties at their home and spent 13 years on Little Gaspirilla
18Island in Florida; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Gerald Maberry was preceded in death by his wife,
20Minnie Theresa "Terry" Peart, and his parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Gerald Maberry is survived by his sons, Mark
2(Sherry) Maberry, Matt (Kristin) Maberry, and Scott (Amy)
3Maberry; his grandchildren, Nick, Morgan, Jordan, Mackenzie,
4Sydnee, Ella, and Sean; and his great-grandchildren, Blake,
5Jason, Hailey, and Chloe; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Gerald "Gary" Maberry, and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Gerald Maberry as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
