SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Glenn W. Sportsman of Elgin, who passed
4away on January 18, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman was born in Rothville, Missouri to
6Ernest and Ella Vaughn Sportsman on August 2, 1925; he
7graduated from Elgin High School and served in the United
8States Army Air Corp during World War II; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman was a businessman in Elgin; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman was an avid fan of high school
11basketball; he was an outdoorsman most of his life and enjoyed
12playing golf; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman was preceded in death by his
14parents; his wife, Shirley; his son, Craig; his grandson, T.J.;
15and his brother, Clyde Sportsman; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Glenn Sportsman is survived by his children, Linda
17Benedick, Robin (Ezell) Simon, and Terry (Crystal) Sportsman;
18his grandchildren, Tia (Dan) Palmiter, Tonsen Sportsman,
19Carissa Dixon, Adam Simon, Devin Simon, and Corey (Allison)
20Massa; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Bert

1Coquillette, Nadine (Travis) Odell, and Maxine Rutt;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Glenn W. Sportsman, and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Glenn Sportsman as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
