SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Oma Maxine Heepke of Bethalto, who passed away on January 14, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Oma Heepke was born in Bethalto to Walter and Violet (Wiley) Neumann on January 2, 1928; she married Frederick "Beef" Heepke at the Eden United Church of Christ on October 1, 1949 and they resided on the family farm in Edwardsville; and

WHEREAS, Oma Heepke was a member of the Eden Church in Edwardsville, the Eden Women's Guild, the Madison County Farm Bureau Women's Committee, and the Republican Women's Committee; she was a member of several card clubs, one of which met for over 65 years; she also enjoyed sewing and traveling; and

WHEREAS, Oma Heepke was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick; her brother, Thomas Neumann; and her in-laws, Charles Piro, Harriet Neumann, and Paul and Carl Heepke; and

WHEREAS, Oma Heepke is survived by her sons, Charles F. (Marilyn) and Fred W. (Pamela) Heepke; her siblings, Walter "Bud" (LaVerne) Neumann, Donna Piro, Genevieve Heepke, and Ruth Heepke; her grandchildren, Aaron (Tanya) Heepke, Jeff (Marcy) Heepke, Dennis (Molly) Heepke, Amanda Heepke, Ross Heepke, Alexa (Luke) Lamoreaux, and Alex (Stephanie) Heepke; and her great-grandchildren, Grace, Emma, Logan, Lucy, and Henry Heepke and Landon Lamoreaux; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Oma Maxine Heepke, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Oma Heepke as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
