SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Sharon L. Shevcik of Troy, who passed
4away on January 9, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik was born in Granite City to Howard
6Sr. and Lorraine (Morris) Thebeau on September 3, 1939; she
7married Ralph Shevcik on April 25, 1959; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik was a homemaker, wife, and mom; she
9was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart/Holy Family Catholic
10Church in Granite City; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik enjoyed reading, playing Bingo,
12and bird watching; she was an avid fan of the St. Louis
13Cardinals and loved to spend time with her family; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik was preceded in death by her
15parents; her brother, Howard Thebeau Jr.; and her sisters,
16Joyce Martin, Leatrice Thebeau, and Rita Thebeau; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik is survived by her husband; Ralph
18Shevcik; her children, Caren (Joe) Saucier, Carol (John) Tolan,
19and Tim (Luan) Shevcik; her grandchildren, Joe Saucier, Sam
20Saucier, and Hannah Tolan and Andy Tolan; and numerous nieces,

1nephews, other extended family members, and friends;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Sharon L. Shevcik, and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Sharon Shevcik as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
