SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sharon L. Shevcik of Troy, who passed away on January 9, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik was born in Granite City to Howard Sr. and Lorraine (Morris) Thebeau on September 3, 1939; she married Ralph Shevcik on April 25, 1959; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik was a homemaker, wife, and mom; she was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart/Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, and bird watching; she was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved to spend time with her family; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Howard Thebeau Jr.; and her sisters, Joyce Martin, Leatrice Thebeau, and Rita Thebeau; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Shevcik is survived by her husband; Ralph Shevcik; her children, Caren (Joe) Saucier, Carol (John) Tolan, and Tim (Luan) Shevcik; her grandchildren, Joe Saucier, Sam Saucier, and Hannah Tolan and Andy Tolan; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sharon L. Shevcik, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sharon Shevcik as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
