SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leslie Joseph "Les" Grove of Johnsburg, who passed away on December 28, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Les Grove was born in Waterloo, Iowa to Harry J. and Joyce P. Grove on April 14, 1955; he married Janet Warren on November 13, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Les Grove was a member of the Lions Club for over 30 years; he loved music and singing, snowmobiling, boating, milkshakes, and telling jokes; he was a patriotic man and took pride in his work; he was a sports enthusiast and an avid White Sox fan; he enjoyed coaching his kids and was affectionately known as "The Coach"; and

WHEREAS, Les Grove was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brandon Grove; and

WHEREAS, Les Grove is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janet; his children, Taylor (Amanda) Grove and Cortnee (Chris) Snell; and his grandchildren, Easton and Lucas Snell; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leslie Joseph "Les" Grove, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Les Grove as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
