SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marilyn E. Farmer of Joliet, who passed away on December 14, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Farmer was born in Watseka to Melvin and Marjorie (Korte) Perzee in 1947; she graduated from Lowell High School in 1965; she received an Honorary Degree from Joliet Junior College in 1994; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Farmer was Executive Director of The Morning Star Mission of Joliet for 20 years; she was also a member of the Joliet Rotary Club; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Farmer enjoyed spending winters at her home in Florida and spending time with her grandchildren at the lake house; she liked swimming, boating, and jet skiing; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Farmer was preceded in death by two of her children, John C. Farmer and Theresa A. Farmer; her granddaughter, Marilyn M. DiMonte; her parents; and her brother, Melvin Perzee; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Farmer is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, David H. Farmer Sr.; her children, David Farmer Jr. and Deborah (Arthur) Stambaugh; her grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) DiMonte, Caleb Stevenson, John Murphy, Joseph Murphy, and David Micetich; her siblings, Tom Perzee, John (Janet) Perzee, Sandra Perzee, and Raymond (Maryann) Perzee; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marilyn E. Farmer and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marilyn Farmer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
