SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy Anne Davis; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis was born in Chicago to Dorothy
5Parker and Ruben Billingslea on August 13, 1958; she was
6baptized at St. Dorothy Parish in Chicago; she graduated from
7Emil B. Hirsch High School; she received her bachelor's degree
8in Public Administration from Roosevelt University; she
9married Christian D. Davis on December 19, 1981; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis worked as a Director and Project
11Manager for the Chicago Board of Trade for over 20 years; she
12also worked as Director of Operations for the Black Star
13Project for over nine years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis loved children and provided
15education resources and government programs to make certain
16every child had the opportunity to a quality of life; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis was preceded in death by her
18parents; two of her sisters, Donna Sawyer and Diane Brown; and
19two of her brothers, Ruben Jr. and John; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis is survived by her husband,

1Christian; her son, John; her grandsons, Joshua Davis and
2Jassem Davis; her granddaughter, Jasrah Davis; her sisters,
3Judy (Archie) Chaney, Linda (Ralph Thomas) and Sherry (Greg)
4Davensport; her brothers, Roy, Mark, Clifford, and Kevin
5Billingslea; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and
6friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Dorothy Anne Davis and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dorothy Davis as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
