SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Anton "Tony" Stricker of Harvard, who passed away on December 22, 1927; and

WHEREAS, Tony Stricker was born in Chicago to Anton and Rose Stricker on December 22, 1927; he married Shirley Jane Planzer in Hartland on December 2, 1950; and

WHEREAS, Tony Stricker owned and operated Swiss Maid Bakery and founded Precision Products and The Practical Baker; and

WHEREAS, Tony Stricker was a member of the Harvard Lions Club, the Harvard Moose Lodge, the Baker's Dozen, and the American Society of Bakery Engineers; he received the Retail Bakers of America Emeritus Award in 2014; he was talented in his many trades, including farming, baking, land development, engineering, and video production; he was passionate about his work and hobbies; and

WHEREAS, Tony Stricker will be remembered for his large laugh, his infectious smile, his jokes, and his storytelling; and

WHEREAS, Tony Stricker was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; his son, Eric; and two brothers, Roger and Teddy, Tony's twin brother; and

WHEREAS, Tony Stricker is survived by his sons, Kurt (former spouse, Lori), Paul (Laura), Mark (Kim), John (Chris), and Todd (Lindsey); his daughter-in-law, Shelley; his grandchildren, Keslie, Kristin, Taryn, Jeremy, Andrea, Aaron, Alyssa, Shea, Ian, Ashlyn, Alek, Macey, Mikhal, Karson, Kaegan, Sophie, and Reid; his great-grandchildren, Lyla, Alexa, and Behrett; and his life partner for the last nine years, Patricia Kyle; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Anton "Tony" Stricker and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tony Stricker as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
