SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald J. Crandall of Lake In The Hills,
4who passed away on November 29, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Crandall was born to LeRoy and Bette Florence
6Crandall on December 7, 1948; his life centered around
7athletics, and he received All State honors in basketball in
8high school; he went on to attend Northwestern University,
9where he was a scholarship athlete; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Don Crandall began his career teaching high school
11math and coaching; he later served as Athletic Director and
12finally as Director of Student Activities in District 211; he
13was inducted into the Erie High School Hall of Fame, Palatine
14High School Hall of Fame, and the Illinois Athletic Directors
15Hall of Fame; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Don Crandall enriched the lives of those around
17him; his friends and family will forever remember his hearty
18laugh; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Don Crandall was preceded in death by his parents;
20and his brothers-in-law, Steve Brewers and Greg Brewers; and

1    WHEREAS, Dan Crandall is survived by his wife, Kathleen;
2his brother, Terry Crandall; his sister, Vicki (Kay) Spidahl;
3his brother-in-law, Mike (Mary) Brewers; his sister-in-law,
4Toni Crandall; his nieces and nephews, Brandi (Brant) Nehmer,
5Drew (Jenny) Spidahl, Zack (Colleen) Crandall, Ashley
6Crandall, Steve (Kathy) Brewers, Karri (JD) Walter, and Katie
7(Adam) Lutostanski; and his many great-nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Donald J. Crandall and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Don Crandall as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
