SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carl G. Blomsterberg who passed away on
4January 16, 2017 at the age of 76; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carl Blomsterberg was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to
6Carl F. and Bernice (Teves) Blomsterberg; as a child, his
7family lived in Hawaii where his father served in the United
8States Navy and survived the attack on Pearl Harbor on December
97, 1941; the family later planted roots in Hawthorne,
10California; he joined the United States Air Force as a combat
11engineer and proudly served three tours of service spanning 12
12years; while stationed in Puerto Rico, he met and married
13Ramonita "Nin" Gonzalez; he retired from the Air Force just as
14the Vietnam War was beginning and planted roots in Elgin; they
15raised their family in Carpentersville and East Dundee and they
16recently celebrated 50 years of marriage; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Carl Blomsterberg was a retired mechanical
18engineer and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Carl Blomsterberg was preceded in death by his
20parents; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Carl Blomsterberg is survived by his wife Nin; his

1sons Carl (Julie) and Sven (Adam); his brothers, Kenneth
2(Rosie) and Eric Jan (Judy); his grandchildren, Jackson and
3Isabelle; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Carl G. Blomsterberg, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Carl Blomsterberg as an expression
11of our deepest sympathy.
