SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Hade Schwarte of Alton, who passed
4away on January 1, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Schwarte was born in Quincy to Albert Bernard
6and Hellen "Nell" Hade Schwarte on July 17, 1927; he was
7baptized at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church; he graduated
8from Little Rock College in Little Rock, Arkansas and married
9Elizabeth "Betty" Daniels at St. Mary's Church in Alton on
10September 15, 1956; and
 
11    WHEREAS, John Schwarte was employed by the United States
12Social Security Administration for 30 years as a field
13representative in the Alton District Office; and
 
14    WHEREAS, After retirement, Jack Schwarte was an
15eucharistic minister and lector at Ss. Peter and Paul Prot -
16Cathedral Church; he was a daily adorer at San Damiano
17Adoration Chapel and volunteered at the Crisis Food Center and
18OSF St. Anthony's Health Center as a courier and later as a
19hospice volunteer for 16 years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Schwarte was a lifetime member of the Alton
21Knights of Columbus Council 460; he was active in the St.

1Vincent de Paul Society, first with St. Mary's Parish then with
2Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, where he was parish Treasurer and
3Alton Deanery President; and
 
4    WHEREAS, John Schwarte was preceded in death by his
5parents; and
 
6    WHEREAS, John Schwarte is survived by his wife of 60 years,
7Betty; his children and their spouses, Jack and Laurie
8Schwarte, Mary and Quint Ehley, Patrick and Jennifer Schwarte,
9Anne Schwarte, Katy Schwarte, Joseph and Melanie Schwarte, and
10Dr. Michael and Ying Schwarte; his grandchildren, Emily Ehley,
11Alex, Molly, Hannah, and Abby Schwarte, and Grace, Joy, and
12Olivia Schwarte; and his sister, Dr. Barbara Schwarte and her
13husband, Dr. James Hutter; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16John Hade Schwarte, and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of John Schwarte as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
