Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the independence of provisions of a judgment or temporary order as affecting an obligation to pay support.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning civil law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act is amended by changing Section 509 as follows:

(750 ILCS 5/509) (from Ch. 40, par. 509)

Sec. 509. Independence of Provisions of Judgment or Temporary Order. If a party fails to comply with a provision of a judgment, order or injunction, the the obligation of the other party to make payments for support or maintenance or to permit visitation or parenting time is not suspended; but he may move the court to grant an appropriate order.
