HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1968 and became a member of Boys Clubs of America in October of that year; and

WHEREAS, The mission of the Club is "to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens"; and

WHEREAS, The Club has affected the lives of thousands of youth at its original location at 201 East Park Street in Champaign and over the years, at various locations throughout Champaign County; and

WHEREAS, The Club has partnered with a variety of local organizations, including schools, park districts, local governments, and other youth development agencies to address the needs of youth and families in our community; and

WHEREAS, The Club continues to maintain a committed group of board members, staff, volunteers, and donors to provide the leadership, day-to-day operations, resources, and support necessary to carry out its mission and work; and

WHEREAS, The Club celebrates 50 years of being a safe place for members to learn, grow, and have fun; the Club is dedicated to opening doors to greater futures for all youth in the community, especially those with the greatest need; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club as an expression of our esteem and respect.
