HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize the Rev. Robert Freeman as he departs Springfield for First United Methodist Church in Urbana; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Freeman has served as pastor at Kumler and Grace United Methodist churches since 2012; he was named president of the Ministerial Alliance of Springfield and Vicinity on June 1, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Freeman served at Grace United Methodist Church from 1988 to 1997; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Freeman is a Delaware native; he believes race dialogue in Springfield has made huge strides, especially through Conversations on Race, which was formed through the Springfield Race Unity Committee; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the Rev. Robert Freeman as he departs Springfield for First United Methodist Church, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rev. Freeman as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
