| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to recognize Timothy "Tim" Bradford on his | 4 | | dedication to the Olympia Fields Park District; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford began his professional career at | 6 | | Quaker Oats in a senior management
position, where he worked | 7 | | for 25 years; he later became a successful entrepreneur in the
| 8 | | restaurant and product distribution sectors; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, After retirement, Timothy Bradford began his next | 10 | | career in public service, a passion that had always
been | 11 | | important to him; he has volunteered on the boards of numerous | 12 | | civic and business
organizations, including the Rich Township | 13 | | High School District 227 advisory board and the
Great Lakes | 14 | | Bank advisory board; he served as president of the Matteson | 15 | | Rotary Club; he
also serves as the administrator of Rich | 16 | | Township; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford has received numerous awards for | 18 | | his community involvement, including the Eagle
Award for his | 19 | | service to the Olympia Fields Park District, the Hero's Award | 20 | | from the
Village of Olympia Fields, the Diversity Award from | 21 | | Diversity, Inc., and a commendation from
the Matteson Business | 22 | | Association; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford was elected to the Metropolitan | 2 | | Water Reclamation District of the Greater Chicago
Board of | 3 | | Commissioners in 2014; he is the chairman of the Ethics | 4 | | Committee and the
Federal Legislation Committee and the vice | 5 | | chairman of the Maintenance and Operations
Committee and | 6 | | Monitoring and Research Committee; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford's passion for the environment, | 8 | | preservation of open space, and community development can
be | 9 | | seen in his 30 years of service as a member of the Olympia | 10 | | Fields Park District Board, where he
served as president for | 11 | | three terms; he also served on the Irons Oaks Environmental
| 12 | | Learning Centers Joint Committee between the Olympia Fields | 13 | | Park District and Homewood
Flossmoor Park District; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, It was during Timothy Bradford's tenure that the | 15 | | award winning Sergeant Means Park
and the Park District complex | 16 | | came into its own; the Cull House is the
administrative center | 17 | | of the Olympia Fields Park District; the "Barn" Meeting Center, | 18 | | an actual
renovated barn, serves as a multi-use facility that | 19 | | handles special events, meetings, weddings,
and other | 20 | | activities; the award winning Barn serves as an important focal | 21 | | point for community
gatherings throughout the Southland | 22 | | region; the popularity of the complex, especially the Barn,
led | 23 | | to the expansion and renovation of the Barn building in late |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Timothy Bradford has been a tireless leader in the | 3 | | Southland for almost four decades and a
dedicated member of the | 4 | | Olympia Fields community; on June 16, 2017,
the Sergeant Means | 5 | | Park Barn will be re-dedicated as the "Bradford Red Door Barn"; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 8 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 9 | | recognize Timothy "Tim" Bradford on his dedication to the | 10 | | Olympia Fields Park District and we wish him and his family all | 11 | | the best as he continues to provide
leadership and good | 12 | | counsel; and be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to Timothy Bradford as an expression of our respect | 15 | | and esteem.
