HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Robert B. Donaldson of Hazel Crest, who passed away on December 29, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson retired from Governors State University after 34 years, where he served as a professor in the College of Business and Public Administration and the Director of the Master of Public Administration Program and the Master Thesis Projects and Practicum; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson was elected to the Board of Trustees for the Village of Hazel Crest in 1989; in 2005, he was elected Mayor of Hazel Crest; he was reelected in 2009; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson was involved in many civic and community organizations and boards throughout the City of Chicago and the southern suburbs; he was a member of the Public Building Commission of Chicago and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity; he served as President of the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association from 2012 until 2013; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Robyn; and his other family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dr. Robert B. Donaldson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dr. Donaldson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
