HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marnya J.
4Williamson, who passed away on December 12, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marnya Williamson was born in the Lilydale
6neighborhood of Chicago to Frank and Delores Brown on December
724, 1953; she moved with her family to Harvey, and they finally
8settled in Richton Park; she committed to her faith at an early
9age and was christened at St. James A.M.E. Chicago; she married
10Cornell Williamson on August 30, 1975; she graduated from Capri
11Beauty School in 1991; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marnya Williamson served the residents at the
13State of Illinois DHS Howe Developmental, Tinley Park Mental
14Health, and Elizabeth Ludeman Centers from July 1985 until her
15retirement in August 2015; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Marnya Williamson was a member of New Salem
17Baptist Church of Chicago; she volunteered at Faith Movers
18Church in University Park, at the food pantry, and at Richton
19Park Library, where she helped with the cooking class; she
20enjoyed cooking, and her chicken dish flavored with honey and
21pineapple was a family favorite; she loved gold jewelry,
22elephant statues, and her grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Marnya Williamson was preceded in death by her
2parents and her brothers, Jesse Jr. and Dino; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Marnya Williamson is survived by her children,
4Antwyone (Candice), Connie, and Cornell; her grandchildren,
5Dontae, Ernest, Damonica, Antwyone Jr., Andrew, Tremaine,
6Heaven, Mekiya, Kyron, Londyn, and Lauryn; her sisters,
7Shirelle, Ameila, Gracie, and Barbara; her brother, Sean; her
8Uncle, Mal; her nieces, Antonette, Lamelia, and Cheryl; her
9nephews, Peter, Alonzo, Gianni, and Vaughn; her grandnieces and
10grandnephews; her first and second cousins; and her many other
11family members and friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14mourn the passing of Marnya J. Williamson and extend our
15sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
16and loved her; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Marnya Williamson as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
