HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the DuPage County Medical Society on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society works to advance quality healthcare delivery, to improve access to care, to promote education and professional collaboration among physicians, to foster improved physician-patient relations, and to enhance public health; and

WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society's proud history includes spearheading the county's polio vaccination program, originating proposals that ultimately led to banning smoking on airplanes and in other public areas, and supporting the DuPage Medical Society Foundation, which has awarded nearly half a million dollars in scholarship grants to area students pursuing careers in healthcare; and

WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society will celebrate its Centennial with an anniversary party with the theme "Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future" in Wheaton on October 10, 2018 and looks forward to continuing to improve healthcare in DuPage County and the State; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the DuPage County Medical Society on its centenary, and we commend its members for their dedication to public service; we wish the Society another century of uniting physicians, empowering patients, and supporting quality healthcare; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the DuPage County Medical Society as an expression of our esteem and respect.
