1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Rock Island Lady Rocks
4 softball team on their 2018 Class 4A IHSA State Softball
5 Championship win; and

6     WHEREAS, The Lady Rocks defeated the Lady Tigers of
7 Plainfield North by a score of two to one; they finished the
8 season with a record of 32 wins and five losses and were nearly
9 undefeated in their conference by winning nine out of ten of
10 their conference games; and

11     WHEREAS, The Lady Rocks were rated second in the State and
12 first in their Class; and

13     WHEREAS, This is the first State Championship Title for the
14 Rock Island High School softball program; and

15     WHEREAS, The Lady Rocks demonstrated sportsmanship and
16 great moral character throughout the entire season; therefore,
17 be it

18     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19 HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
20 congratulate the Rock Island Lady Rocks softball team, and we

1 extend our best wishes for the continued success and happiness
2 of each member of the team; and be it further

3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to the Rock Island Lady Rocks softball team as an
5 expression of our esteem and respect.
