HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Kevin Hamilton on the occasion of his retirement; and

WHEREAS, In 1978, Kevin Hamilton followed in the footsteps of his father, Don Hamilton, by joining the Carpenters Union; he achieved journeyman status and served as job steward, foreman, and general foreman; and

WHEREAS, In 1990, Kevin Hamilton was appointed as Business Representative for Carpenters Local #377 in Alton, where he also served as Officer and Delegate; in 2001, the Southern Illinois District Council and the St. Louis Carpenters District Council & Vicinity merged and he retained his appointment as Business Representative; and

WHEREAS, In 2013, Kevin Hamilton was appointed as Illinois Coordinator for the Council; in 2015, he was appointed Director of Jurisdiction/Illinois Coordinator; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Hamilton is a member of the United Way of St. Louis and Illinois, the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois, the Madison-Bond Workforce Investment Board, and serves on the executive board of the Riverbend Growth Association; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Hamilton married Mary Ann Leonard in 1981; they have a son, Adam, born in 1989, and a son, Chris (Joan), born in 1983; they have two grandchildren, Reid and Graham; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kevin Hamilton on his retirement, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kevin Hamilton as an expression of our respect and esteem.
