SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 205/205-332 new

    Amends the Department of Agriculture Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Director of Agriculture, or his or her designee, shall convene interested stakeholders to develop a proposal to effectively and efficiently promote urban agriculture in municipalities in the State. Provides that on or before December 31, 2019, the Department shall report their findings the Chairperson of the Agriculture and Conservation Committee of the Senate, and the Chairperson of the Agriculture & Conservation Committee of the House of Representatives. Defines "urban agriculture". Repeals the provision on January 1, 2020.

1    AN ACT concerning agriculture.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Agriculture Law of the Civil
5Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section
6205-332 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 205/205-332 new)
8    Sec. 205-332. Urban agriculture report.
9    (a) In this Section "urban agriculture" means producing
10agricultural plants, poultry, or livestock on public or private
11property within a municipality's limits.
12    (b) The Director of Agriculture, or his or her designee,
13shall convene interested stakeholders to develop a proposal to
14effectively and efficiently promote urban agriculture in
15municipalities in this State. On or before December 31, 2019,
16the Department shall report their findings the Chairperson of
17the Agriculture and Conservation Committee of the Senate, and
18the Chairperson of the Agriculture & Conservation Committee of
19the House of Representatives.
20    (c) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2020.
